Raised at Ralma Holsteins, a dairy in central Minnesota, Katie Schmitt began her tenure with the Council on Dairy Cattle Breeding in March 2023 as the Outreach Specialist. Now, Katie works as CDCB’s Industry Relations Manager. Before joining the CDCB team, Katie worked at World Dairy Expo in various communication and marketing roles including as Communications Manager. During her time at WDE, she founded and hosted The Dairy Show, Expo’s podcast, and led the communication efforts during the cancellation of the 2020 event. She received her bachelor’s degree in animal science with an emphasis in industry and business at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities along with minors in communication studies and agricultural food business management. While living in Madison, she enjoyed volunteering with the Madison Area Food Pantry Gardens and is now a resident of Kansas.
